Lab FacilitiesComputer systems are undergoing radical change. The amount of growth that has occurred in computer technology in the past half century is in real sense tremendous and totally unprecedented in other industries. In this high-tech era, computer technology is encapsulating all spheres of human needs and aspirations. It has metamorphosed not only the data processing and storage, but also the quality of life, manufacturing, designing, communication and transportation.Department of Computer Engineering is established with the birth of Govt. Polytechnic College, Neyyattinkara in 1991 with a strength of 30 students and now increased to 60.
The curriculum of Diploma in Computer Engineering lay emphasis on design and development of both hardware and software, in addition to software packages. The components of the curriculum are courses on electrical, electronics and computer systems, Office Automation, Microprocessors, Assembly Language Programming, Data Structures with C, Object Oriented Programming - C++, Web Programming - HTML, Java, Active Server Pages, Operating System, System Software, Computer Communication, System Hardware, Database Management Systems - Oracle, Computer Graphics & Software Engineering. The curriculum includes programming languages & skills in addition to computer networks and communication technologies. Seminar and Project Work are integral part of the curriculum to extend the multi-dimensional growth of a student.
We have a good infrastructure with highly qualified faculty, calm and quiet atmospheric class rooms, well equipped laboratories for computer hardware and software divisions. The demonstration classes given with the help of LCD projector would help the students to easily assimilate and imbibe the subject.
On completeing the course the student will able to compete with present technologies and issues in the field of workstation and networked computing.
Software and Hardware labs are established so that students can acquire pratical knowledge in the subjects.
