Electronics & Instrumentation
Instrumentation is defined as ...the art and science of measurement and control... Instrumentation can be used to refer to the field in which Instrument technicians and engineers work, or it can refer to the available methods of measurement and control and the instruments which facilitate this.

A student joing the Electronics & Instrumentation course has to study electronics subjects and instrumentaion subjects. Since the course covers both these subjects, an electronics & instrumentation student get foundation on both areas. The student who successfully completes the course acquire varying mix of knowledge and skills to match the diverse occupations.

The term course always means a 'subject of study' in which theory, pratical, project work, seminar presentations are included. The courses are categorised as Foundation Courses, Basic Technology Courses, Applied Technology Courses and Elective Courses.

Foundation Courses are to be taken mostly by the students who have passed 10th standard. The Basic technology courses are bridge courses between Science and Commercial subjects and Applied Technology Courses

The Applied Technology courses are the professional level terminal courses through which the desired knowledge and skills are developed in the students to perform his/her job functions in the chosen field of Engineering/Technology.

The purpose of including the Elective Courses is to provide an oppurtunity for some more detailed knowledge in specific areas in the same or related discipline or to develop an awareness in other interdisciplinary areas.
