General Department is established to give thorough grounding in basic science and engineering subjects. The curriculum lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles. The General Department handles the foundation course for the students of all other departments.

The department consists of following:

Chemistry
English
Electrical
Mechanical

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

The students who joined without acquiring knowledge on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English in Pre-Degree (PDC) or Higher Secondary (HSC) course and all those who joined on completing 10th (SSLC) and Technical Stream (TSC) have to study the above subjects.
Computer Application & Business Management (CABM) students also required to study Business Mathematics and Business Statistics.
Chemistry/Physics lecturer handle the General Foundation course for SSLC students of CABM branch.
Well equipped laboratory facilities are available for both Physics and Chemistry departments.

Electrical

All students except CABM have to take the course on Electrical Engineering. Engineering Graphics and Human Resource Management are other subjects given by this department. Ample lab facilities are avilable so that the students can gain pratical knowledge in electrical engineering.

Mechanical

Mechanical department handles the subjects- Industrial Safety, Engineering Graphics, Human Resource Management for all students except CABM. Quality Control and Reliability Engineering is also handled for Electronics and Avionics students.

Basic Mechanical Workshop

The objective of basic workshop is to create a comprehensive idea about different production areas, such as Carpentry, Fitting, Sheet Metal, Welding and Machine Shop. Machine workshop comes under the headship of Workshop Superintend.
